about
Following the council's proposals for budget cuts, the youth service in Cardiff has been blindly overlooked and many youth centres around the city are facing closure. The Howardian Centre was the place where some of us met, learnt our instruments and grew as people. It's a special place that we hold close to our hearts.
This is our response to what we believe to be a poor decision made by the council, and an aim to communicate the ways in which Studio 22 at Howardian has benefitted us for the past twelve years.
The song was written and recorded in the studio, using the equipment available to young people for the small price of 50p an hour. We believe that this type of service is invaluable to the development of creative young people.
This track is up for 'pay what you want' download, all donations will be gladly received by Studio 22.

lyrics
i see them trying to cut the youth,
without no logic, we are walking proof,
of the future that lies in me not you,
without our place i don't where i'd be,
probably drinking on the corner of your street,
using up the valuable time of your police,
and i went there everyday that i can,
everyday, making music with my friends,
then the council came along with their plans,
took away these opportunities from our future man,
i see them trying to cut the youth,
without no logic, we are walking proof,
gotta give them something more than school,
without our place i don't where i'd be,
i wouldn't be as happy wouldn't feel as free,
without the people that i was so glad to meet,
and i was taken under a wing,
taught i had a choice,
that i could sing,
and i could use my voice,
for anything,
that i could make a noise,
just for me
we need to invest in,
the future of Britain,
you know it's the truth,
can't cut the [you]th
